I set up this site for two reasons. To learn a little bit about Dreamweaver (enough to know that I do not want to be a web developer), and to create a place to show my photos.

I've been playing with photography for years, starting with an old Polaroid camera I got when I was a kid. My first "real" camera was a Pentax Spotmatic that I picked up second-hand from a friend of mine. I also bought an old enlarger from him and started developing and printing my own b&w shots. I had a blast!

It was a great camera for a long time, but it was probably 20 years old when I bought it, and it eventually died. I replaced it with a Canon EOS Elan IIe. I didn't have room in my new apartment to set up my darkroom, so I started shooting colour. Then when I took a few photography classes, I switched to slides. This is when I really started getting into the hobby, building up my lens collection and learning more about different techniques.

Earlier this year, I upgraded to a Canon 10D digital SLR. I'm so loving this camera! No longer having to wait for film development, seeing the results right away... fabulous.

Finally, I also picked up a tiny little point-and-shoot – a Canon S410. I love having a camera small enough that I can have with me wherever I go!
